Brief Encounter

Brief Encounter

I arrived and you were there

Laying in waiting

Laying quite still

I approached cause I was curious

You curled up

You were pale

My touch was warm and soothing

We connected

Then you shared

My heart did melt and I did cry

Say no more

No more, I said

This is too much for me to bear

It’s not my cross

It’s not my pain

We all need answers and/or resolve

I must get you home

Out of the rain

Writing 101 continues. Today’s prompt: You stumble upon a random letter on the path. You read it. It affects you deeply, and you wish it could be returned to the person to which it’s addressed. Write a story about this encounter. Today’s twist: Approach this post in as few words as possible.
